- Kipnis, Menachem
- (1878-1942)Polish singer, folklorist and writer. He was born in Ushomir, in the Ukraine, and moved to Warsaw in 1901. From 1912 to 1932 he toured Poland, Germany and France, appearing with his wife Zimra Seligsfeld, in lecture-recitals of Jewish folk songs. These he published in numerous collections; he also published articles on various aspects of Jewish music.
